Swain County passed a resolution condemning the Backcountry Fee on 3/13/13.  Further proof that the unpopularity of this user tax grows as the facts rise to the surface.  We hereby salute Swain County, like Blount County before them, for standing with their citizens and not the Park Service.   Here is what the National Parks Traveler piece said, below is the resolution itself.
